Sergey Markov, a political scientist whose biography is closely connected with teaching, is a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation V convocation, where he was elected in December 2007 from United Russia. From the faction of this party, he is a member of the Committee, working with public associations and religious organizations, occupying the post of deputy chairman.
The future political scientist Markov Sergey Alexandrovich was born in Dubna 04/18/1958.
After finishing a decade in 1977, he was called up to serve in the Arctic in the border guards of the KGB of the USSR.
After demobilization from 1981 to 1986, he studied at the philosophy department of Moscow State University.
After receiving his diploma, Markov taught social sciences for three years at the branch of MIREA (Moscow Institute of Radio Engineering, Electronics and Automation) located in Dubna.
In 1989, he moved to the Philosophy Faculty of Moscow State University, where he was first an assistant, then a senior lecturer, and then an assistant professor.
In 2011, Markov was appointed pro-rector of the PRUE Plekhanov G.V.Its functions included the establishment of relations with state bodies and public structures.

Markov Sergey from 1987 to 1989 - an active participant in the Moscow clubs "Perestroika" and "Democratic Perestroika". He organized the branch of the latter in Dubna.
