The size of the system is one of its basiccharacteristics, and therefore the user should know how to find out how many bits in his system. Today, as a rule, we are dealing with 32- and 64-bit systems. In this article, we will analyze three ways to clarify the bit depth of the operating system by the example of Windows (Windows).
Properties of the system
In our opinion, this is the fastest way to learnsystem capacity. To enter the system properties, you need to right-click on the "My Computer" shortcut and select "Properties" in the drop-down menu. In the "View basic information about your computer" window in the "System" sub-section, you can see the system capacity in the "System type" line.
One of the distinguishing characteristics of 64-bitsystems is the ability to work with 32-bit systems, at a time when 32-bit with 64-bit programs "get used to" can not. Due to this feature on 64-bit systems in the section "Local disk (C :)" you will see two folders - Program Files and Program Files (x86), while on 32-bit only one - Program Files.
You can find out the bit depth with the help of the commanda line that can be launched from the Start menu. In the command line field, enter the command "Set Pro" and press the "Enter" key. Before you will be a list of system parameters, among which will be the type of system.
As you can see, all methods of determining the digit capacity of the system are very simple, and even a novice user will cope with them.
